Thailand - Part 3 - Mai Khao Beach

We were so lucky to have gotten a resort that was on a very unpopulated part of the Phuket coast.
There were times when we were the only ones on the beach in our area.
The water was warm and beautiful and so so blue!
It really cracks me up how white we were on the first day there!
The first night...
By the next day we were nice and burned up!
And by the end...we just called ourselves tan (but it was probably still a burn!)
It was a hard place to leave...

Thailand - Part 2 - Pool Life

The beautiful pools became a part of our daily routine.
We tried them all, but had a favorite which also happened to be the closest to our villa.
Because the resort wasn't crowded, we were always able to find nice spots together and everyone could come and go between the pool, beach and villa as they pleased.

The view was always gorgeous...
The drinks were always refreshing...
And hard work was always being done...

It was pretty rough!

Thailand - Part 1 - Our Resort

It's been taking me so long to figure out how to organize the Thailand trip blog post!
So many pictures and memories!
I've decided to try something different and group them according to "subject".
The first post is about our wonderful accommodations at the JW Marriott Phuket Beach Club.

I can't find the words to express how much I loved this trip.
With a few exceptions, I'm not going to try.
I'm going to let the pictures do most of the talking...

To begin with, here's where we stayed and what we saw everyday on our walks to and from the beach.

Our sweet little ground floor villa was perfect!
Great spot to start your day with a morning cup of tea.
These beautiful flowers growing everywhere!

Traditional Thai breakfast right?
No?

Donald and Ivan found a coconut floating in the ocean and brought it home.
Ivan worked hard to crack that thing open.
Sadly, it was rotten inside!
For several years now Ivan has been anxious to try dragon fruit.
It's hard to find here in Yakima, but its plentiful in Thailand.
We had some at a breakfast buffet our first morning, but he was in heaven when we found it at a local store.
(Truthfully its a gorgeous fruit, but pretty flavorless...but you will NOT get Ivan to admit that!)

Our little stash of Asian goodies that we brought back from the local shop.
From left to right, Nori seaweed flavored potato chips, dried Nori strips, dried and seasoned squid on a stick (Ivan and I loved it!) and Thai ramen (spicy heaven!!)

 To be continued...
