Climbing Trees

A couple of weekends ago, I told a bored Jenelle that she should learn to climb the tree out front.
It's a beautiful maple who's branches, I believe, were specifically designed for children.
They're just perfectly placed for moving up and up and up.
Jenelle was the only one left to climb it.

Well she did it and with some instruction from Ivan, she got even higher than she thought she could.
But so far, her favorite thing to do is to sit and read in the tree.
Looks so comfortable right?
Ouch.
But she says it's fine and when reading is involved, I don't argue!

Daffodils

After almost 7 years in our house, I finally planted some bulbs last fall.

The first ones up are these pretty sunny-yellow daffodils whose whole purpose in life is to trick you into thinking that spring is really going to come.

Sure it will arrive on the calendar, but the temps will still be in the 50's...
Maybe these emerging tulips will bring better news...
